User interview : Axel Moulhiac, Plum Living

Can you explain your role and what your main responsibilities are in connection with the Flowlity project? How were you using the tool before vs now?

Axel Moulhiac: I joined Plum Living two years ago, as the logistics manager of the company. My responsibilities begin when the supplier produces our items and they arrive at our warehouse, continuing through to the final delivery to the customer.

How were you managing planning before Flowlity?

Axel Moulhiac: When I joined the company two years ago, we used a Google Sheet for demand planning because we were a small company with limited made-to-stock items. The sheet had many exports and formulas created by my manager, who had extensive experience in demand planning. The file was difficult and time-consuming, and we experienced many shortages and challenges.

What benefits have you seen?

Axel Moulhiac: When Flowlity arrived, it truly changed my day-to-day life. It might sound like a big statement, but knowing the tool exists and using it has made a huge difference. It also helped me learn demand planning concepts thanks to my interactions with the Flowlity team. The tool is easier to use and has simplified my understanding of the key concepts.

With Flowlity, I can now spend more productive time on demand planning. The tool is constantly evolving, and we’re almost developing new features alongside Flowlity, as our feedback is considered. It’s easier to make predictions based on Flowlity’s data and compare it to previous product launches.

I now spend more time on demand planning, but it’s more productive because I’m not just reacting to sales.

Can you explain a time when you ran into a challenge and leveraged the Flowlity tool to help?

Axel Moulhiac: For example, anticipating shortages is a significant benefit. Our business has evolved since we started using Flowlity. Before, we didn’t ask the sales team for forecast volumes because, as a startup, we were sending out a lot of samples, making it hard to track.

With Flowlity, we can input forecasts into the tool, making it easier to manage new products on our website. When we launch a new item, we better understand how it might perform in the market, even though we don’t know everything yet.

Overall would you recommend Flowlity to others and can you explain briefly why?

Axel Moulhiac: Yes, because the tool is doing its job great. The most important part of my job now involves finding solutions to improve strategies, like reducing stock value. It’s become more strategic and less mentally taxing.

Especially for a small company with a tight budget, dealing with many different references—some made to stock, some made to order—it’s crucial not to just react to current situations. With Flowlity, we can set and improve our stock strategies effectively.
